Best Shopify Sale Scheduling Apps
Search "sale scheduler" in the Shopify App Store and you'll get a long list, all promising the same headline. The differences that matter are underneath. Rather than rank names that change every month, here's the checklist we'd use to pick one — so you can judge any app for yourself.
The features that actually matter
- Scheduled start and end times. The whole point. Both ends should be set in advance, to the minute.
- Automatic revert. When the sale ends, original prices must come back on their own — and it must be the true pre-sale price, not a stored sale price.
- Compare-at handling. It should set the struck-through "was" price during the sale and clear it after.
- Collection-level targeting. Running a sale by collection is far easier than picking products one at a time.
- Bulk reliability. It should apply changes across hundreds or thousands of variants without timing out or missing items.
- Logs. A record of what changed and when, so you can confirm a sale started and ended cleanly.
Red flags to avoid
- No automatic revert. If you still have to end the sale by hand, it hasn't solved the real problem.
- Loses the original price. Any tool that can't reliably restore your true full price will slowly corrupt your pricing.
- Checkout-only discounts dressed up as sales. If the markdown isn't visible on the product page, it's a discount, not a scheduled sale.
- Heavy theme edits. Be cautious with anything that needs deep, hard-to-undo changes to your theme code.
How to choose
Start a free trial during a quiet week and run one small, real sale: schedule it, watch it start, watch it end, and confirm prices reverted exactly. An app that nails that simple round-trip on a handful of products will handle Black Friday. One that doesn't will let you down when it counts.
